The wonderful Bronze Age Sun Chariot. Cast from bronze about 3,400 years ago, a horse pulls a gilded sun disc. Found by a farmer in Trundholm bog, Denmark, in 1902. At first he thought it was an old toy and took it home for his children! Photo: my own.

Helmet made of boar tusk found in Tomb 515 at Mycenae, Peloponnese, Greece. 14th-13th century BCE. A helmet such as this one was described in Homer's Iliad (Worn by Odysseus in Book 10). National Archaeological Museum, Athens, Greece. My own photo.
