The Israeli army has intentionally destroyed part of the water plant infrastructure in the town of Markaba. This is a war crime and an act of genocide. Israel systematically targets civilian infrastructure in Lebanon.

Genocide is defined under Article Il of the 1948 UN Genocide Convention as any act committed with the intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial, or religious group. One of the five acts is “deliberately imposing destructive life conditions.”

Remember that more than 65 towns and villages in Lebanon are still under Israeli occupation and are still undergoing daily illegal civilian home and infrastructure demolition.

⭕️ Israeli forces raided roughly 70 homes in the town of Tell, southwest of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, and detained around 50 Palestinians, according to Al Jazeera.

Nablus Governor Ghassan Daghlas said 6 Palestinians have been killed, dozens wounded and many detained across the governorate over the past two days.

He blamed the attacks on “a long period of international silence,” which he said had given “criminal gangs the green light to attack Palestinians.”
