The Delhi High Court has paused the FSSAI ban on fake ORS drinks.
Now, the company can sell 180 crore worth of stock - nearly 4 crore packs of the same sugary drink that has 10x more sugar than WHO-approved ORS.
That proves ROl matters more than human lives.
These drinks can be dangerous for children, especially during dehydration.
Dr. Sivaranjani Santosh fought for 8 years to get this ban - we can't let that fight go to waste.
Let's raise our voice.

Mumbai is becoming just tougher to live in every passing day. Have literally seen the deterioration of this city in the past few years. Never thought I'd say this but even thought I'm a Delhi'ite I actually miss the days when 'Dilli se aaya hai kya' used to be an insult on Mumbai roads.
Now traffic management is chaos, traffic sense is gone, roads are full of potholes, drainage is figment of imagination, public transport like buses are being made lesser, everything is just getting worse. Sure shot way to have a major traffic snarl, is to place the present day traffic constables there, who really seem they have no idea about traffic management.
And pls don't give me the people don't have civic sense argument, that's just bollocks and everything comes down to authorities. If authorities could implement a lockdown and overnight banning of notes, then if intent is there, authorities can manage traffic for sure. We have to stop this self/victim-blaming mentality.

STT has remained the most draconian tax of all after stamp duty. It collects nearly 30k cr , which certainly is put back towards market infra or any such acceptable cause. It is very much against "stated" principles of simplifying business and ease of doing business.

STT is a tax that is not allowed to be set off or even expenced! (you may not recall but it used to be when it was introduced !! Which made it somewhat palatable, then)

Simply put it It is a tax for doing a transaction. So at the outset itself Govt is not allowing a FREE entry to anybody to do a transaction. It is like a HAFTA that we are allowing you to come to mkts and transact and hence you have to pay this.

This tax is irrelevant when the gains from the mkts are already taxed at good rates!!

NO OTHER COUNTRY in the world has this kind of tax!!

India mkts transaction cost is one of the highest in the world if not the highest. The efficiency of transactions should have been improved successively as capital gain collection improved over decades . Instead they started to see this as an easy cash cow. 🐄🐄
