On Tues, 11/28 at 7pm @saraeasterly @kelseyranyard and @LavLuz will join us at our Lake Forest Park location to discuss their book ADOPTION UNFILTERED

My recent interview with Shondaland, sharing about the complex emotions related to adoption, as well as my forthcoming book, Adoption Unfiltered. https://t.co/QfFr9ZkidN
@NicolePajer Happy to share all the complexities from a perspective several yrs out. Memoir has been called "a difficult story with brute honesty and impressive introspection" (PW). And: "A disarmingly honest memoir" & "Fiercely personal" & "unflinching honesty, authenticity, & vulnerability"
It is so important that #adoptees review books about adoption with harmful messages. Thank you to @saraeasterly for this honest #BookReview of Susie Finkbeiner's novel on transracial adoption, narrated only by white people, leaving the TRA voiceless.

Such an honor to join @LavLuz and this stellar line-up
of other guests for S2 of Adoption: The Long View. If you haven't discovered this podcast yet, definitely add it to your feed for thoughtful, balanced, and useful conversation about #adoption.
A1.6 “Since it’s quite literally a matter of life or death to keep our adoptive families close, all our attacking energy goes inward. Suicide statistics suddenly make a lot of sense—but that doesn’t mean they’re okay.” https://t.co/rlrDby0oIu #ElevateTheConvo
@thenames_kaelyn@SocialWkrKaty @mcs_counsel To me, in this case adoption positivity comes from nonadopted ppl who don't grasp adoption's complexities, and so dismiss adoptees who share any pain. There's certainly room for you to share happy experiences. I frequently share about BOTH my happy and sad ones. Both matter.
