“Oh, cool, y’all are planning a big get-together for the President’s birthday?”
“No, it’s a protest.”
“So, large crowds will gather in his name across the nation on the day of his birth?”
“Don’t say it like that.”
“And there will be a cool concert?”
“A protest concert!”
“And people will have watch parties for the birthday concert? Kinda like a reality show dedicated to him?”
“No!”
“Will there be cake?”
“I hate you.”
He has perfect pitch, so his vocals are pretty incredible — that said, there is always some backtrack and pre-recorded aspects to a SB national anthem, especially when an orchestra and chorus are involved — but Puth did specify his vocals would be live, which they appeared to be.

@neontaster On the right: my dog Tucker
On the left: his best pal Buckley (RIP)
(fwiw, my Tucker’s most controversial political opinion is that there are, in fact, bad dogs)
Please read Senator Sasse’s statement all the way through. His Christian witness parallel to this awful news is a tribute to him and everyone should be praying for him, his family and his doctors.
@BradPowers7@jackmac (…it’s really about the rules that put JMU & Tulane in the playoff bc these were strength of schedule and conference championship decisions)
When I hear “why go play in a meaningless bowl” I think about Will Muschamp watching his walk-on QB son play in one.
Sports are wonderful. I’d give anything to go back & play one more game. You only get a few of them.
But ND stuck it to ESPN, amirite?
I don’t really care what Notre Dame does, but the fans would certainly like to see their team play one more game.
FWIW, Iowa State won the Pop Tart bowl last year over Miami — it was a great game, 42 to 41. I remember bc my husband went to Iowa State for undergrad and was thrilled to get to watch his team play one more time that season against an opponent they wouldn’t normally get a chance to play. Now he gets to watch his former grad school Ga Tech play in it (thanks to Notre Dame).
But that is who remembers the bowl games — the players and their fans.
