Agree. Read for example the movement stories from Argentina that tell us how joy and relief are also what some women experience. And, how women decided it was not the state’s authority to make abortion ‘legal’ or ‘illegal.’
Abortion is not a bonus or a reward we must earn.
In 1st post-Roe v Wade #DNC, 3 women shared abortion experiences that were prefaced with pain.
I waited for a 4th woman who had not suffered for her abortion; a woman like me.

AOC just spent an hour weighing in on efforts to replace Biden as the nominee. It’s an important listen.
She thinks an open convention is lunacy & that multiple red alerts on the dashboard aren’t getting enough consideration.
Here are her 7 main points, as I understood them: 🧵
A blessed #EidAlAdha to all those celebrating around the 🌍.
May this Eid be a time of compassion, togetherness, peace & hope.
May the spirit of this festive occasion bring unity & renewed engagement to build a prosperous & sustainable future for all.
Eid Mubarak!
May songs, love, and joy send him on his final sail. May his spirit always imbue the passion, commitment, and humor of @kramdas and all whom he touched. May peace and justice he and Lolly sought, prevail. Inquilab Zindabad indeed! Ramu presente! https://t.co/Q98xbYXxy9
These profiles present these voting rights leaders as whole women—how they were raised, who/what influenced them, invoking the ancestors, how they influence their own families as well as democracy. ‘Having a family is a way to call the shots, to make your career work for you.’
This is good reporting about steps in the pace of change for women picking up their first Oscars across an array of fields. But yet again, another Emma Stone movie upset the evening’s hoped-for milestones (memories of La-La Land and The Favourite messing with Moonlight and Roma)
I was remembering this. Love you, Tracy Chapman. You soothed GenX through the aches of adolescence, ready to get out to adulthood. And told us it would life would still hurt but we can yearn.
Greta & Margot,
While it can sting to win the box office but not take home the gold, your millions of fans love you.
You’re both so much more than Kenough.
