VICTORY IN CALIFORNIA! After relentless advocacy by our volunteers and partners, Governor @GavinNewsom signed a historic package of gun safety legislation into law, making California the first state to establish a tax on gun dealers to fund gun violence prevention and school safety programs! The measures also strengthen California’s public carry laws, and ensure the state’s microstamping law will be fully implemented.

Our deepest gratitude to California volunteers and partners who testified at multiple hearings, sent over 16,000 emails and made over 2,000 calls to urge the passage of this critical legislation. Your hard work will save lives! #CALeg #CalVIP

September is #SuicidePrevention Awareness Month. Throughout the month, we will be calling attention to the gun suicide crisis, which claims the lives of nearly 25,000 people in America every year—an average of 68 people per day.
