@kimpetras I am an opera singer and I’m planning a benefit for the horses in NYC to shut down this inhumane practice! Let’s talk and save these gorgeous creatures! 🐎
We must insist on living in the grey, considering alternative points of view, and resisting the primitive urge to gather at the pyre. Art reminds us to resist absolutism and embrace our humanity by holding a mirror to society and, most importantly, to ourselves.
I’ll never forget reading Hawthorne’s 1850 novel and the plight of Hester Prynne. Let the dark Puritanical story and characters remind us that abject vilification of “others” results only in universal suffering and unrest.
I've been reflecting on links between my time working on a startup & launching a career as an opera singer. Entrepreneurs are artists, even if they don't identify as creatives. They still face constant rejection and need to iterate as they identify their target audience.
On Monday night, I made my debut with the Jupiter Symphony Chamber Players, singing Faure’s La bonne chanson and Chausson’s Chanson perpétuelle. It was a true honor to sing with the musicians beside me. 🙏🏼💜💫
Nobody cares more about copyright than the YouTube bots. And no - it is not indeed a violation to upload an aria by Handel, who died in 1759. Evening rant over. 🙄
Hi Twitter-verse! I am admittedly not great at Twitter, but would like to post updates here more regularly. Something I’ve been thinking about is how making music isn’t a choice; it’s a need. The world desperately needs art — and artists matter. Sending love ❤️

"He invited the children to say hello and answer some questions from the group. One participant asked the girl, around 7 years old, how she felt about current events..."
Sharing a powerful reflection from T'ruah Israel Fellow @saralemesh.

It feels like this art installation on the UWS was meant to depict the evil supernatural presence in “The City We Became” by @nkjemisin#scifi#scifiart#newyorkcity
