Mahrang Baloch and Sammi Baloch, both globally recognized for their peace efforts, one a 2025 Nobel Peace Prize nominee, the other a @FrontLineHRD Award laureate, have been declared terrorists and jailed under fabricated charges by the state of Pakistan.
They have fearlessly resisted state oppression and exposed decades of crimes against humanity in Balochistan. But in Pakistan, those who fight for justice are called criminals, while those who commit crimes walk free.

Today marks the sixth day since the Quetta massacre, and the state crackdown continues. Our planned protest rally, scheduled to commence from Samungli Road and proceed to the Quetta Press Club, has once again been disrupted by authorities. Police have sealed the location and are arresting anyone attempting to reach the site. So far, dozens of protesters and Passersby have been detained.

State Defies Its Own Judiciary—BYC Leader Bebarg Zehri Detained Despite Bail Orders
BYC Central Committee Leader Bebarg Zehri and his brother Dr. Hammal were abducted by security forces from their home in Quetta on March 20. For three days, their whereabouts remained unknown. It was only after a petition was filed in court that their location was revealed—Bebarg Zehri was being illegally detained at Bijli Ghar Police Station, Quetta.
Today, when the court finally issued his bail orders, the authorities refused to comply. Instead of releasing him, they have now shifted him to District Prison Quetta and detained him under 3MPO.
This is yet another blatant example of how the state disregards its own laws and judiciary to crush the Baloch voices.

The Crackdown on BYC Protesters
The Quetta Massacre exposed the brutal face of state repression. On 21 March 2025 security forces unleashed violence on peaceful BYC protesters, firing live bullets, killing three and injurying dozens, using tear gas, and carrying out mass arrests to crush the voices demanding justice.
This documentary sheds light on the horrific crackdown, the resilience of the Baloch people, and the ongoing struggle against oppression.
Watch the trailer and witness the truth they tried to silence.

The arbitrary detention of BYC leaders, Mahrang Baloch, Beebow Baloch, Sammi Deen Baloch, and others is a grave violation of human rights. Silencing activists will not erase their voices.

Sammi Deen Re-Arrested Despite Court Orders for Her Release
BYC Central Committee leader Sammi Deen has been re-arrested under the Maintenance of Public Order (7MPO) law, despite the court ordering her release earlier today. After all detained protesters in Karachi were freed, the police deliberately blocked the court’s main gate and refused to let Sammi leave. Now, in a clear act of political victimization, they have falsely charged her under 7MPO to keep her in custody.
This move exposes the state’s complete disregard for its own judiciary and legal system, as law enforcement agencies continue to target Baloch activists with fabricated cases. The re-arrest of Sammi Deen is yet another attempt to crush the peaceful resistance, but the movement remains unwavering in its fight against oppression.

Indiscriminate firing, arrests and bogus charges will further intensify the chaos in Balochistan
We call on authorities to release the detained Baloch, including BYC leaders
Spokesperson Baloch Women Forum
State’s crackdowns on the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, targeting women and men in indiscriminate firing and arrests, have intensified across the Baloch areas, creating an atmosphere of chaos in the society. Earlier, Dr. Mahrang Baloch was illegally arrested and detained along with Bebow Baloch and others when they were protesting the arrest-cum-disappearance of their central member, Beebarg Baloch and his brother Hammal Baloch. In the following days, the law enforcement agencies have been directly firing at the protesters, shelling tear gas and detaining everyone they come up with in the vicinity.
Today, when the committee called for protests in Quetta and Karachi, like the earlier ones, they faced brutal crackdowns in both the protests. In Quetta, everyone who intended to join the protest, or was even a Baloch and walked around the area, whether men or women, was arrested and threatened. A large deployment of the police, along with other law enforcement agencies, was also shifted to the location of the protest. Due to excessive state forces, the place changed but they faced the same indiscriminate firing and arrests– including girls – in Qambarani road, which is more than just a concerning point.
Meanwhile, the Karachi administration imposed a so-called 144 in Karachi following the protest call by the BYC. When they, along with other human rights groups and persons, intended to record their protest outside Karachi Press Club, the police lashed on them, forcefully and illegally dragging Sammi Deen Baloch and Lala Wahab Baloch, the central leaders of the BYC, into police van and shifting to another location yet undisclosed. While at the same time, another group was brought in the same spot with state flags and banners of anti-BYC slogans – the Article 144 was suspended for them as police themselves gave way to them to replace the BYC protest.
We believe that the state is going against its own constitution, and universally declared fundamental human rights, by snatching from the citizens the right to assembly and record their peaceful protests. We also denounce the inappropriate charges on BYC leaders and others, and call on the authorities responsible to deal with the situations accordingly to maintain the flag of justice above and everything. We call on them to release the detained BYC leaders and others in the best public interests.
