@thisismewhatevs No, I think it's the other way around, that twoen can have a close intimate platonic relationship including physical reassurance when required without being attracted to each other. The that they that can't is quite frankly just toxic masculinity framed from a progressive angle.
@apathyacting @ASingleBlackFe2 @cetkat @trekkerprise I know it's offensive. But according to the Yanks, now People of Colour is acceptable. The semantic difference between the two would be confusing for a non-native speaker. That's why I think the UKs BAME term is better. (Although that has its own issues demographic wise too).
@torijoy09 @ASingleBlackFe2 @cetkat @trekkerprise I under stand the word coloured is offensive, and have done since I was a kid, but then the US for some reason decided People of Colour was an acceptable term in the last few years, you can't expect non-native speakers to understand the semantic difference between the two.
@torijoy09 @ASingleBlackFe2 @cetkat @trekkerprise No, I'm mocking the Twitter users offended over a non-english speaker making an understandable error in their language as if it was an intentional attack. I have no issue with the progressivism of Trek or sci-fi in general. I'm a life long Labour voting leftie, why would I?
@torijoy09 @ASingleBlackFe2 @cetkat @trekkerprise The interacial kiss story is an urban legend. US had several (albeit not white/black) before hand and the BBC UK beat it by almost a decade with a white woman and black man.
You've missed the entire point of the scene with Uhura and Abe Lincoln that intentions > language used.
Twice now McCarthy has essentially come out as CG and then deleted his tweet quick as you like, presumably because he got a talking to behind the scenes. You should reach out @EthanVanSciver
@TopHatGamingMan Watching all these celebrity fundraisers and stuff like this does feel really tacky and unbecoming if you're used to European politics doesn't it.
@bbiegrayson @HelderOA@grapestain@DCComicsKids@ryanqnorth@THR @derek_charm @thebrockart@brendan_deneen I just don't understand how you can make a character who's traits are chain smoking fags, knocking back pints and dealing with dark magical realism in the London underworld child friendly and keep any spirit of the character? Just make a new one.
@bbiegrayson @HelderOA@grapestain@DCComicsKids@ryanqnorth@THR @derek_charm @thebrockart@brendan_deneen Making Batman or Supes kid friendly is one thing. Trying to make a character who's origin involves him surviving his father's attempt at coat hanger abortion is another. This feels like the Watchman Babies joke from The Simpsons.
@DCComicsKids@THR@ryanqnorth @derek_charm @thebrockart@brendan_deneen And I thought you couldn't get Constantine more wrong than the Nu52 version. I feel like you're a few weeks away from actually announcing the Watchman Babies book from The Simpsons.
