@ashley_clemenae Hey ashley! I agree that it is important to consider the varying abilities of students that will be in our classrooms. I also appreciated how vibrant and open the teacher which helps to create a welcoming environment. #educ200#03sp22
Today in class we talked about shaping curriculum and who has a say in what is learned. We looked at different levels of people that decide what we learn. #educ200#03sp22
@aliviapalmer23 Identifying biases helps us to know exactly what to look for in our other books and in our classrooms. Knowing what biases exists help us to eliminate them, allowing everyone the opportunities they need. #educ200#03sp22
@wperrondancemag@C_Quarterly Yes it can! I’m always learning from others’ movement especially when using contact. The contact improv space is open to all possibilities and acceptance. #educ200#03sp22.
@AmberJa48698670 When discussing the Matthew Effect, we had an interesting conversation about tracking and the ways it can determine how successful a person is and whether they break the cycle. #sp0322#educ200
@lauraewassmer It was very important to acknowledge that difference because many people think that we all need the same thing, but in reality each human has individualized needs that make it harder to actually achieve equality. #03sp22#educ200
@AbbieHogan25 It’s interesting to thinkabout how much our world has changed since we first started educating. We know much more about how our brains work, yet there are still so many similarities from that time where we didn’t know as much. I think it’s time for reform! #03sp22
@ashley_clemenae Well said ashley! Looking at limitations is important for our future students so we can help them succeed and help navigate obstacles. #03sp22
Yesterday in class we talked about teaching philosophies and privilege as it related to several articles we read for homework. My group had a great conversation about recognizing how people get profiled and the dichotomy between men’s and women’s safety. #educ200#03sp22
Today in class we discussed the reading that we did for homework. It was interesting to see what everyone’s takeaways were. My takeaway word was “disenfranchised” because some schools are disenfranchising students by not providing them with adequate education. #educ200#03sp22
Yesterday in EDUC200 everyone got a chance to tell the story of their name. Our job as listeners was to look beyond the tip of the iceberg to find something out about our classmates. #educ200#03Sp22
@espar2am I agree with you, Katie, and Amber that this group employs psychological safety, meaning and impact. I think it could be argued that it also employs dependability. The children depend on these teachers to give them a safe and fun learning environment. #educ200#03sp22
@AmberJa48698670 Hey Amber! I agree with you that this teacher in the article exemplifies the google norm of structure and clarity. Having her students know the rules provides clarity on what they can be expected to do and not do.
This article from Happi shows Unilever's flexibility when COVID-19 hit. The brand connects to the Google Norms of psychological safety by creating new models of employment and understanding the impacts of COVID 19. #educ200#03sp22
