In class today we examined a video for various aspects of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. This video inspired me to reevaluate how I can make my class the least restrictive and most accessible environment for students with a variety of ability. #EDUC200#03Sp22
@oliviajfitz While we were discussing this, my table talked about how we could implement Bloom’s Taxonomy into our classrooms. We noticed that some worked from the bottom up while others had an easier time working from the top or in the middle. #EDUC200#03Sp22
@kubiakchemistry This is a really beautiful example of how welcome you make your students feel in your classroom. Keep up the amazing work! #EDUC200#03sp22
@oliviajfitz I thought it was really interesting looking through the textbooks for bias. My group noticed that science textbooks tended to have more cosmetic bias and history and English textbooks had more linguistic and stereotyping bias. #EDUC200#03Sp22
@GageTriggs Before class, I didn’t realize the impact these 3rd and 4th grade milestones had! I think that it is our responsibility as teachers to ensure that we are doing our best to meet these unique needs of our students to ensure their success later in life. #EDUC200#03Sp22
@AmberJa48698670 I really enjoyed discussing the differences between equality and equity. How equality is like a one size fits all approach and equity is more tailored to the needs of individuals. #EDUC200#03Sp22
@AbbieHogan25 We also compare some of the methods of mental discipline and humanistic paradigm to methods that are used in schools today. Drill and recitation from the mental discipline era and a variety of courses from the humanistic paradigm era are still in use today. #03Sp22#EDUC200
@katewilsonn30 I also really enjoyed this lesson. It helped me to evaluate the qualities that make a positive classroom environment where students feel welcomed and safe. I will definitely keep this in mind for when I have my own classroom. #EDUC200#03Sp22
In class we discussed the commons as well as privilege. I think that it is important that we acknowledge the backgrounds and demographics that people come from because it can be a source of limitation/exclusion from having access to opportunities and resources. #EDUC200#03Sp22
We discussed the challenges schools face in providing a fundamental education and its impact the students. I was shocked to learn some students will leave school without the ability to read. This impacts their ability to participate in society and in democracy. #03Sp22#EDUC200
@kendraejean Hi Kendra, I agree that the team does embody dependability. I also think that they embody structure and clarity because each dancer has a defined role of what they are supposed to do and how they are supposed to carry out the choreography. #EDUC200#03Sp22
@aliviapalmer23 Hey Alivia, I can definitely see the norm of impact here. I also see the norm of dependability. In order for the magic to happen, each member relies on the other to do their job to the best of their ability. #EDUC200#03Sp22
@kendraejean@Baileyjmu2025@AshlynLieberman I also really loved hearing about how everyone got their names. There were some really funny and really personal stories told and I feel that it helped us to know one another better and foster a tighter classroom community. #EDUC200#03Sp22
The Canadian ski team finds their success in the dependability and meaning google norms. Each member has a personal meaning behind their training and dedication to the sport. They all rely on one another to train hard and perform to the best of their ability. #EDUC200#03Sp22
Check out this article I found on the Canadian downhill ski team for the Olympics and their strategy for success. #EDUC200#03Sp22

Today in class we learned about Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. I thought a lot about how students run into problems with their education when they aren’t meeting those needs. A teacher’s ability to help fulfill those needs is one of the many roles they undertake. #EDUC200#03sp22
