@RGinghina Hey Raina! I like your reflection of our class time Monday. This class made me think about which one of these steps I will implement into my classroom as a teacher and made me think about what I should be striving for. #03sp22#educ200
yesterday in class we first talked about our upcoming small group presentation and then we reviewed and discussed the principles of special education, highlighting classroom environment and parental participation. #educ200#03sp22
@sarcarr427 I thought it this lesson was super interesting. i had always thought that the higher ups in schools decided what is learned. It was inspiring to hear that when it comes down to it, it’s the teacher and the students that have the most say. #educ200#03sp22
@aliviapalmer23 I thought it was super interesting how hard we were looking for bias in these modern textbooks and couldn’t find many at all. I think this search for bias made me better prepared to identify them while i’m a teacher. #educ200#03sp22
@AmberJa48698670 I thought it was particularly interesting about how in the previous classes we were talking about redlining and this class we were able to tie it into the matthew effect. #educ200#03sp22
today in class we talked about the matthew effect, learning about how the rich get richer and the poor get poorer opened up a discussion and connections for the real world examples of this. #educ200#03Sp22
@AbbieHogan25 hey Abbie! I also found all of those statistics very interesting, the one that surprised me the most was how large the number of students are to not graduate on time if they lived in poverty and the factors that contribute to that. #educ200#03sp22
@katie__camp I thought this lesson was super useful too. It was helpful and important to know they’re are different ways to do in text APA citations to better help the flow of our writing.
@FVencetia I thought this activity was so interesting, I enjoyed the part where we brain stormed what legacy each philosophy left behind in today’s age.
@ashley_clemenae I completely agree with you, I found it so interesting to read those articles and realize just how much privilege I really have. This lesson showed me how not all the students I’ll be teaching had the same upbringing as me. It’s good be to aware of that.
During class Monday, we learned about poverty in Virginia schools and how it differs geographically. We also talked about Robots attacking us and what we’d get to survive and how there is a parallels to public schools and what they need to survive.
@EmilyLinck1 Hey Emily!! I agree with where you see clarity and structure in the amazon team work. I also saw impact as a google norm here because amazon has created jobs for everyone which is having an impact on their lives, and still impacts them as they work. #educ200#03Sp22
@kendraejean Hey kendra!! i agree with you I saw dependability as well as impact, how the team members acted impact one another which makes the google norm impact so important for a productive environment. #educ200#03Sp22
The google norm that can be found here is psychological safety, chick-fil-a says that they are passionate about providing a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for their more than 140,000 employees. Thus they are working towards having a psychological safe work place.
