@cdranzer87@RobinPoedev And guess what you too look "worse" 15 years later without the benefit of makeup, professional studio lights or photo retouching.
@cdranzer87@RobinPoedev Do you not have people in your life who... Have aged? Who go through moments where they aren't the pinnacle of romanticised sexuality? Would you also call them ugly?
@EraShy072 I like to think both depictions of the clones work and improve each other. At the start of the war they are robotic, homogenous weapons of war and it's the act of being used in war and struggling with that trauma that draws out distinctive human personalities and feelings.
@SRamirez68083 The effects artists would have been thinking of these questions, though. It's fun and harmless to speculate on the internal logic they may have had in mind when designing it. Obviously some people take that too seriously, though...
@cinemaverickx Anakin was never meant to be 45 in these scenes. Dialogue in A New Hope implies that Anakin was a lot older when he turned to the dark side than we eventually saw play out in the prequels. Him being 45 here is a retcon.
@Inno_Ne@mightydudbolt I just listed the BIGGEST examples that came to mind but if you think you can go into any games subreddit and not find people complaining about SOMETHING after every patch you're out of your mind.
@hegelpill@mightydudbolt Never did I say Lucas had no contribution, it was just a far cry from the only one or the only artistic vision contributing to Star Wars as a whole. Each of those people had their own ideas, vision, and talent that all synthesised into the final film.
@hegelpill@mightydudbolt And it's also something else without the concept work of Ralph McQuarrie, the music of John Williams, the performances of its cast, the cinematography of Gilbert Taylor, the effects work of John Dykstra, the editors, producers... Everyone else involved.
@hegelpill@mightydudbolt Star Wars was a collaborative project. All films are and the idea they emerge fully formed from the brain of a director is a nonsensical myth.
@Inno_Ne@mightydudbolt Again, there are CONSTANT criticisms of the ways games change over time due to patches. A great example would be Destiny 2 and its vaulted content. Or the many, many changes to games like Runescape and WoW leading to fans demanding the "classic" version back.
@Inno_Ne@mightydudbolt Star Wars was also a collaborative artwork and even if he owned the legal rights, it was never entirely his artistic vision to alter. Besides, people DO point out the ways remakes and remasters of games consistently disregard and disrespect historical and artistic legacy.
@aytchellesse Why am I getting posts from all these TERF dipshits on my feed all of a sudden. Maybe read a book for once instead of just yapping about this shit.
@hegelpill@mightydudbolt It looked Bad, 70's (Groundbreaking, innovative, authentic to the original artistry) and now it looks Bad, 90's (cheap, anachronistic CG).
@SalemThe5th@MrTCHarris I'm sure you look even further from the idealised feminine beauty standard than that photo, but I don't think you're any less of a woman for it β€οΈ
@SalemThe5th@MrTCHarris Penis = boy is the kind of dumbed down understanding of biology and gender expression they teach 6 year olds, most people grow out of that stage of comprehension when they become adults. Bonus giggles for enforcing a misogynist gender paradigm based on beauty standards!
@SalemThe5th@MrTCHarris Not how it works. Trans women are women and always will be no matter how much hateful, uninformed bigotry gets thrown their way. I hope one day you will fix your heart β€οΈ
