The American embargo on Cuba is the longest economic embargo in modern history. Last month, 184 countries voted in favor of a UN resolution demanding the end of the US economic blockade (for the 29th consecutive year).

Around 11:30 am today, Mohamed #Bouazizi, a 26 yo Tunisian fruit vendor, self-immolated in front of city hall in Sidi Bouzid (center). Unemployed & in debt, he'd attempted complaining about local police harshly confiscating his cart earlier in the day and was summarily rebuffed.
