I'm shooting a short film, and I'm going to try live tweeting the production process. Never produced a short film or live tweeted, so this could all go terribly wrong. Reader discretion is definitely advised.

The Postal Office set up air routes, radio comms and 17 landing fields between New York & San Francisco to facilitate this.Then the Air Mail Act of 1925 allowed the postal office to provide contracts to private air carriers. By 1929, 45 airlines were involved in private delivery.

Fun fact: it wasn’t passenger travel that evangelized commercial air travel. It was initially driven by the demand to deliver postal mail quicker. Up untill 1925, planes carrying postal mail were delivered by World War 1 planes through the War Department.
