Showed the MVP to potential client today.
I knew this was gonna happen. The client wants me to sell the app to him for high 4 figures.
Not bad if you think about the time it took to build, 30 days in total (15 days to ideation and 15 days to build).
But I am negotiating to retain a bit of equity let’s see.
Main reason I'm contemplating whether to post about my recent app sale or just start the next project.
I stopped sharing everything publicly but only the process. While I believe people will copy your app once it's out there, at least in this case I'll have some breathing room before they do.
Something along the same lines was also said by former ruler of Dubai - Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum
“My grandfather rode a camel, my father rode a camel, I drive a Mercedes, my son drives a Land Rover, and my grandson will drive a Land Rover, but my great-grandson will ride a camel.”
@tdinh_me@robj3d3 I agree on this. Also in certain cases, you will also have the opportunity to sell your finished product. Which is a little or more helpful depending on your circumstances , while you work on the next one.
@blue_ocean9912 If a project takes longer to build it used to serve as a moat and you will have 4-6 months leeway before you copycat launches. But now-a-days with AI and Vibe coding, it’s really not that helpful.
Ads not working? Try this.
1. Messaging:
- Explain your product or service in 1-2 sentences max. The shorter, the better.
This applies to all aspects of your business. In an ad. In a physical label for your product. In a landing page.
2. Talk about Benefits:
Look at Nike ads. Their ads and content are about athletic performance, not features. Your customers buy products for how they make them feel.
- Nike = Athletic
- Luxury Products = Status
You get the point.
3. Price of Product:
Is your product priced too high? This is an issue I came across many times.
Price must be realistic. Check your competition and alternate/substitute products.
Still unsure how to price at the upper limit while maintaining high conversion and selling more?
- Use statistics.
Do A/B testing: Multiple landing pages with different prices to the same traffic.
If you still have issues, maybe it is time to check the economics and demand.

Notes on paid ads:
1. CTR is less than 2% then Creative problem.
2. CPM > $20 = Creative problem. (Also Check AOV)
3. TikTok is a cheap way for awareness.
4. Spending less than $100k/month, only Meta.
5. Spending $500k/month, run TV test.
6. Audience saturation when spend > $1000/day per 1M people in campaign audience.
