@BeautyWentFirst@JimJatras I wonder why? There's a significant chunk of Orthodox members that despise the white protestant convert, referring to us with disdain as orthobros, writing think pieces about how we are dangerous to orthodoxy. Most white people I've told about Orthodoxy do not feel welcome.
@BeautyWentFirst The lamest thing I've noticed about Orthodoxy has to be the weird sense of specialness that cradle members seem to hold. You don't own the church and you are not its gatekeeper. That's Christ. Do you think Jesus was proud of His priests and their response to Covid?
@artwithinpod@crawlings13 Who is coercing her? Coercion requires forcing someone to do something. All that law would be saying is that she cannot kill her baby. No one would be forcing her to do anything.
@jenniferV54321@PaxDomini0@crawlings13 If I intentionally end the life of a fetus against a mother's wishes, even without harm to the mother, its classified as a homicide, specifically feticide. The only difference between your scenario and the scenario thats classified as murder is the consent of the mother.
@yehoodig@catgirlprostate That was a metaphor, not the plan all along. He's trying to explain to people what salvation looks like to a group of mostly Jewish Christians. Your head is super far up the ass of people who hate Christ. Thats weird.
@yehoodig@catgirlprostate Youre being super weird and super defensive about the criticizing of Jews. You implied grace and mercy are legal loopholes and them tried to use Paul to show that you think God's plan was to save the Jews and then the gentiles were grafted on. You seem Jew obsessed. Its weird.
@yehoodig@catgirlprostate Do you think that the God of all reality really only loves the Jews and just happened to toss the rest of us a bone? This is such a weird thing to say.
@SeanConnoryX@AntoniusOhii No, the OP is literally trying to dehumanize. Nothing is mentioned about hierarchy. Thats the subtext, but straight up dehumanization is just as dangerous as flattening hierarchy.
@annielcrawford How about the myriad of studies proclaiming marijuana is good for you? Just check the top r/science for the last 10 years, anything that confirmed the leftist worldview was voted to the top. Lots of stuff with weed and LGBT.
@eonworthy@HughjdSmith Why would my choosing to follow Christ take away from His glory? Is the glory of God a finite amount? Am I somehow able to diminish God's glory? If I'm being transformed through Christ, that's His work, not mine. Less of me more of Christ, but I must choose Him.
@eonworthy@HughjdSmith So if we are all totally depraved, how do you understand the work of Christ? This seems like Calvinism. What about theosis? How do you explain theosis without free will?
@noetic_healing Didnt the Rabbis and Talmudists basically change Judaism as a religion? 2nd Temple Judaism looked so different from Rabbinic Judaism that they only seem nominally related.
@thepalmerworm@richardrohlin You cant please everyone lol. My plan is to worry about my family, help them navigate all this craziness and trust God will provide other people doing the same.
@NickHintonn Youre only a bad example if you quit. Otherwise, people get to see your story of transformation through Christ. We all have brokenness in our brains, but as we heal, others see what is causing the healing. There is no way you need to be except as Christ made you in this moment.
