@flyrrs Players don't just automatically reach offer sheet eligible. The Flyers would have to fail at resigning him (basically making the same mistake as ANA). Why would they do that?

@nhl_review He obviously has a high chance of leaving in 5 years since he’s signing offers elsewhere now so is that really the “backbone of the franchise and future captain”? Maybe the backbone for 5 years and the future captain of another team.

@project_hockey He’s very good, great hands, moves, technique, etc. He’s NOT the best player in the world, however, and it’s doubtful he ever will be. Shouldn’t be getting paid more than numerous better players who have earned it through REAL production, not everyone’s hope of what could be.
