i went there a while ago. they have already barricaded the entry to the masjid and didn’t allow me to go. cop said imam doesn’t want people to come lol. they have only been given 6 days to evict. this race course masjid is on the NDMC’s list of heritage sites btw. 125 years old. please speak up.

नई दिल्ली की ऐतिहासिक रेस कोर्स मस्जिद को खाली करने के नोटिस और बिजली-पानी काटे जाने के बाद विवाद खड़ा हो गया है. लगभग 40 सालों से मस्जिद से जुड़े इमाम मोहम्मद हारून का आरोप है कि LNDO (भूमि और विकास कार्यालय) ने सभी गेट बंद कर दिए हैं और 6 दिनों में परिसर खाली करने को कहा है, जिससे नमाज़ियों का आना-जाना मुश्किल हो गया है.

सफदरजंग मक़बरे के पीछे स्थित यह मस्जिद आजादी से पहले की है और NDMC की हेरिटेज सूची (क्रमांक 22) व 1977 के दिल्ली गैजेट में दर्ज है. मामले को लेकर जमिअत उलेमा-ए-हिंद ने केंद्रीय अल्पसंख्यक कार्य मंत्री किरेन रिजिजू से मुलाकात कर हस्तक्षेप की मांग की है, वहीं आप नेता अमानतुल्लाह खान ने भी इस कार्रवाई पर सवाल उठाए हैं.

1. Despite the masjid being a gazetted waqf property since 1977, the waqf board did not challenge the demolition order. Neither did it make any effort to resolve the issue
2. Even the Waqf Amendment Act protects the masjid since it’s ‘waqf by user.’ And all such properties registered in the past continue to be protected. But still no effort was made.
3. It’s the Minister’s job to resolve the matter since the Delhi Waqf Board hasn’t been constituted since 2023 but the CEO of the Board could have intervened, that also did not happen.

The historic Race Course Mosque at Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi, is facing the threat of demolition, according to its imam, Mohammad Harun.

Speaking to FOEJ Media, former journalist Huda Zariwala alleged that the mosque’s electricity supply had been disconnected, water supply disrupted, and worshippers are being stopped from offering namaz.

When FOEJ Media tried to reach the mosque to report on the matter, security guards stopped the team, saying that media personnel are not allowed inside.

The team also approached Imam Mohammad Harun to talk to him about the issue, but he declined to speak.

4 students of Jamia are on hunger strike right now. 2 of them are on their 8th day without food and have not just lost significant weight and strength but also been abused by the university guard and been thrown out on the 17th October while they were on hunger strike at 5:30 am in the morning.
