What do you do for pupils who have missed lessons due to being absent?

Do you give extra work, catch up work, direct them somewhere etc? What does it look like?

@joel120193 Currently on this thinking pattern. We don’t use booklets. As English, it just feels messy. If pertinent we could copy our ‘We do’ response but if that’s all it took for a kid to learn, we wouldn’t have a job. Our attendance isn’t good!

NEW Most students can spot a metaphor. Few can define one. Teach tenor, vehicle and ground. Metaphor is transport: the vehicle carries the tenor across the ground. Stop device-spotting. Start explaining how the image reshapes the idea and why it matters.

It’s because weight loss advice is based on studies conducted on men, not woman. Weight loss hasn’t ever been studied in women on any large scale because minor research that has been done all leads to the same key point - hormones.

As soon as female hormones come up in a study, they rarely continue researching. It’s deemed too complicated and expensive so they ignore it and throw male orientated advice at women knowing full well that it doesn’t work on them.

Science knows little about female bodies. This isn't controversial to say, nor is it a 'theory'. This is very widely known and accurate. No one wants to actually fund research on female bodies, the research is deemed 'done' because it's been 'done' on men.
