Teleoperated social robots are being increasingly used in therapy. How do experts think about therapy itself, & how can this help us design social robots to better meet therapists' needs?
@sbeleidy and @TerranMott explore in their @ACM_CSCW paper!

Over the past few years we've been advocating for teleoperation in many Socially Assistive Robotics contexts. But there are key equity challenges to be addressed when using this approach, as analyzed by @sbeleidy in his @ieeeroman paper with @beth_reddy

ICAR's Advocacy Counsel, Noor Hamadeh, speaks on IUU fishing during Capitol Hill Ocean Week. "Forced Labor is endemic to IUU fishing. Distant water fishing fleets trap workers at sea for years without access to wifi, the outside world and their loved ones." #CHOW2023#IUUfishing
We're excited for all the MIRRORLab Papers that'll be presented at @ieeeroman this year! Here's a sneak peek (titles pending) of what to look out for: 🧵
Huge Congratulations to @MIRRORLab / @CSatMines / @coschoolofmines' ~**Dr. Ruchen Wen**~ for successfully defending her dissertation, "Context-Sensitive Representations, Reasoning, and Communication for Morally and Socially Competent Robots"!!! 🥳🤓🤖🧵
Made it to Stockholm today!
Looking forward to giving a ⚡talk during the HRCI workshop @HRI_Conference on "Conversations with Identity Performing Robots: Considerations for Algorithms and Interfaces"
I'm a bit jet lagged but hopefully I won't sound too much like a minion...
This practical guide, authored by @noor_ham12, @maitelsadany, and @yasminoviech, presents a menu of options to welcome lawyers to the world of corporate accountability and to highlight the mechanisms that are available and relevant to the MENA region: https://t.co/Ipq79EOVUi

@beth_reddy @qzhu0723 When we were looking at publishing an ml ethics microinsertion paper, I believe we looked at SIGCSE for a conference paper. I think TOCE would be the relevant/equivalent journal. It's general CS education though and not AI specific.
