I know you guys have had this meeting. The decision gets made but the ticket never did...
Everyone greed on the fix live on the call. Everyone nodded but two days later the ticket still didn't exist and nobody remembered who owned it.
The decision was real but the work just quietly disappeared.
I used to blame the meeting for this. Too long, too much to remember but the meeting was fine.
Most times you actually decide something but It dies in the two days after, in that soft space where everyone assumes someone else is writing it down.
What fixed it for me was embarrassingly small.
The ticket gets filed on the call. While we're still talking.
1. Someone mentions create a ticket and https://t.co/y5HXXJKVaU creates the ticket based on the ongoing conversation
2. Owner assigned
3. Due date attached, even a rough one.
Takes maybe 30 secs..
One less thing to worry about in the hectic corporate world which requires us to rememeber a 1000 things.
