@Zoeycross1 I agree! I don't know if there would really be a great outcome with this when it comes to gaining popularity just because or if they are Canadian #POPMUSW22
A quota is not necessarily needed, but Canadian artists need more recognition on the radio and on TV. American musicians have dominated the radios, it is time for Canada to be included #POPMUSW22
@JoanSwackhamer I agree with this!! Concerts can be so expensive, and with artists putting out live albums we have the opportunity to know what they sound like live, a much cheaper option! #POPMUSW22
@dchicasduena I never thought of this! Sometimes people enjoy the big shows, but by listening to just the music they can focus on the lyrics and music itself #POPMUSW22
I disagree with Wald's statement. A lot of people cannot afford to go to see bands live so they listen to recordings. People listen to recordings because they are fans, and if they did not like the music they would not listen. #POPMUSW22
@haley_pinksen This is definitely cultural theft, and people need to be held accountable for when they do so. Although it was not as big of a deal then it is so important that we recognize it now #POPMUSW22
@Heather_oliv Hi Heather! I completely agree with this. It is always important to know where something came from if it does not belong to you or your culture and people need to know this
People have stolen music from POC and have not provided the proper credit from who they have covered the song. Music can change when covering it, as it happens with many celebrities today, but there is always credit given. #POPMUSW22
It could be said that Ray Charles was using his voice to show his struggles with drugs and his diagnosis of glaucoma and the music became a part of him. The breaking in his voice gives his audience something to relate to as he expressed himself through it #POPMUSW22
@GojiraKira@OliviaR34156685 Personally, I love listening to music privately and having the songs for myself. AirPods are more seen as a social status rather than something to listen to music with when it really shouldn't be #POPMUSW22
Before the iPod and iPhone came out I had an MP3 player, I remember while my friends were getting iPods and I still had the MP3, people judged me because it was seen as lower than them. An iPhone is now the norm, but people should enjoy music however they want to #POPMUSW22
@JennaleeRalph I agree with this! On my Spotify wrapped my top artist was One Direction and I felt as if I couldn't share that with anyone as they aren't as 'cool' as other bands #POPMUSW22
@GojiraKira Music does not have the same connection to lyrics as it once did, now it is just music to make music. Although some artists do genuinely produce meaningful music, such as Taylor Swift, you don't see it often anymore and is rare to come across #POPMUSW22
@LedwellKat Autotune is used too often by influencers who think they can sing but only use autotune to get more fame. Sometimes it does not showcase ones real talent, unlike people like Cher who use it and is very talented #popmusw22
A false need that has been created by music is that you need to have a luxurious lifestyle in order to be successful. For example, the song 7 rings by Ariana Grande show that you need money in order to have fun and make it far, which is far from the truth. #POPMUSW22
