Narges Mohammadi, @NobelPrize laureate, remains unjustly detained for her nonviolent advocacy against the death penalty, torture, and discrimination against women in Iran. She must be granted the urgent medical care she needs and released from prison. #FreeThemAll
Narges Mohammadi won the Nobel Peace Prize from inside an Iranian prison.
For years, Iran has kept her chained to the cell floor of Iran’s notorious Evin Prison for telling the truth about the regime’s abuse of women and political opponents.
Now her body is breaking down, and Tehran is blocking the urgent care she needs.
Transfer her to her doctors. Release her now.

Iran may be in the headlines, but the voices of Iranians are being overlooked. After decades of repression, Iran’s path forward must reflect the will of the Iranian people who have borne the costs of decades of tyranny. https://t.co/u1JlY95hGh
16-year-old Diana Taherabadi was asleep in her parents' house when regime forces dragged her out of her bed in the middle of the night.
She has been in regime custody since January 25.
Interrogators have threatened her with execution for protesting.
Her life is in danger.
When I co-led Stop Child Executions @sce_now organization with @DEtebari , one of the bravest lawyers we stood with was @NasrinSotoudeh.
She did not just defend human rights, she paid for them with her freedom.
Late nights, constant pressure, years taken from her life. Arrested again and again for doing what most would be too afraid to do, defending women, children, and political prisoners in Iran.
We fought for her release alongside @AmnestyIran, @pen_int, @FrontLineHRD, @ICHRCanada
and many other human rights organizations.
In 2018 when she was arrested, around Nowruz, we ran a campaign asking people to place her photo on their Haft Seen tables and pressure governments to help.
This year, just a week after Nowruz; she was arrested again.
And once again, we cannot look away.
In 2019, I had the honor of accepting an award on her behalf at a @PENCanada event, with @MargaretAtwood. Sadly Iranian women are still resisting a system that echoes The Handmaid’s Tale, but this is not fiction. This is happening now.
Watch @nasrinfilm documentary by
Jeff Kaufman. Learn her story. Share it.
And do not forget her husband, @RezaKhandan4, imprisoned for standing beside her and making buttons against forced hijab.
Even in times of war, the Iranian regime continues to turn inward, cracking down on its own people, escalating arrests, and carrying out executions.
While so many political prisoners are at risk, we mustn’t forget those who have been fighting the system for decades and have paved the way for freedom with great danger.

37 years ago today, these ten young women were executed in #Iran.
Their crime? Being #Bahai, a minority religion striving for peace and gender equality.
May their memories continue to be a blessing and inspiration.
At least 280 people were executed in 2019, 4 juvenile offenders were among them

A 13 year old girl #RominaAshrafi was brutally honor-killed by her father in Islamic Republic. A regime that for 41 years has systemized child executions of all kind.

“Abolishing execution of those who committed crimes as a minor, was a step in the right direction by Saudi Arabia.
An act that we demand the ruling regime in Iran to also follow immediately”
