@BlaineGilb77537 @UAW Better alternative because it saves companies thousands to thousands of dollars in contributions. Majority of my co-workers retire in their mid 50s when they are eligible to collect both pension and early 401k withdrawal at 55. That's not common with 401k match retirement plan

@BlaineGilb77537 @UAW Believe it or not you are able to contribute to a 401k and IRA while an employer contributes to your pension. "Ask me how I know." Employers should be making full contributions to your retirement, not requiring a match to get the full amount. It's a scam.

@RyanElward Definitely agree. I think a lot of people are retiring though. Don't think many 90s seniority dates will be left over after this. If you're not eligible for the pension and take the buyout, you gotta really hate the job.

@unusual_whales It's regressive because most poor to middle class spend 100% of their take home pay some spend even more. The wealthy spend a small portion of their income. Just because a billionaire can spend 100 million a year compared to my 50k a year does not mean it's not regressive.

@AcdntlyRetired Most jobs are not white collar, so no this is not true. People working food service, retail, skilled trades, warehouse, logistics, medical professionals, etc. do not do 2-3 hours of good work and drag ass the rest of the day.

@Blind__Luck How do you consider social security a welfare program? You have to work at minimum 10 years to get anything, 35 years to exclude any $0 years in the formula. Unfortunately we all live in society together ending "welfare" programs is not for the betterment of anyone.

@LPOregon Didn't we already try libertarianism? I'm pretty sure that's how the government was run up until about the turn of the 20th century.. I think it ended right around the time one man controlled 95% of the oil in the country.

What exactly do you think Idahos government offers that Oregon doesn't? In 20 years when you don't like how Idaho's ideals have flipped, where will the new borders be?

Why drive/walk somewhere when I receive the ballot at my home and send it off with my mailman the next day. Maybe you should watch the news from about hours long voting lines. They are a thing

@gOregonix @ducksVSall Donald Trump votes by mail.. state wide vote by mail wasn't a thing until I believe 2000. Before almost everybody went to the ballot box. It was voted and approved to switch to vote by mail. I am glad I don't have to drive and stand in hours long lines to vote.

@NEOregon_parent @GreaterIdaho What's the big industries the state of Oregon destroyed across all of eastern Oregon. The subsidies are based on population. A town of 10k people or less simply cannot be taxed enough to maintain roads, schools, emergency services.
