Exchange between @jonstewart and @DepSecDef Kathleen Hicks on the defense budget: "I can't figure out how $850 billion to a department means that the rank and file still have to be on food stamps. To me, that's fucking corruption."
#LauraForese some stern words for physicians and nurses and families concerned about the lack of PPE:

"It raises for us whether you in fact want to keep working for @nypresbyterian."
Taped where?? Nice painting, but I'm not seeing a mask.
@Jesse_A_Adams @ChuckWendig @MultiverseCon I too am super-excited about @multiverseCon -- it's only my second time as a convention guest. I feel like a real writer! October 18-20 in Atlanta
@vein_of_silver There has been some interest, but I'm not supposed to talk about it. As far as whether anything will ultimately happen, your guess is probably as good as mine.
@stuckoverflow It is weirdly similar tho. I was all set to lawyer up when the not-Margaret kid went looking for his dead Father in the afterlife, but it turns out Umbrella Academy was published in 2008.
I don't *remember* reading it...
@stuckoverflow Your tweet was the first I heard of it, but I watched ep1 last night. I really like it so far! Doubly weird in that Ellen Page was high on my fantasy casting list for Carolyn.
@austin_p_snyder @marniebalboa @StephenKing IT is a legit classic, but I actually prefer The Stand. YMMV. Swing back by Mount Char when you're done, though.
@daejin_v2 I get some variation of "WTF did I just read?" in probably 25-30% of my goodreads reviews. Add in "weirdest thing I've ever read" and we're probably closer to 40%. I think that's my answer.
I just got back from #FirstMan. *I* thought it was 10/10 amazing. Engaging, beautifully shot, with impeccable performances and holy shit the soundtrack. Best movie I've seen since #Whiplash (same director).
I'd also say this is one where big screen is the way to go.
@ChappyZach 1. I have in fact finished a manuscript (last week), but it's still going to be a while.
2. I just started House of Leaves--I'm liking it quite a bit. Very Halloween. I also do Salem's Lot around this time most years.
I thought this was really interesting: a company has come up with a three word code for every room-sized space on earth. The idea is to use it in place of GPS coordinates, and in places without clearly defined street names. Worth a read. https://t.co/RQysxcONG9
@sethjdickinson I think it would depend on the volume of the metal in the cast. Anything from "ash" to "still perky enough to complain" is plausible. There's a Red Bull Science video of tossing body-sized organic waste into lava--nothing left. But a guy in 1998 briefly survived full immersion
