i posted about this the other day, but testosterone in men drives not only mate seeking but also status seeking, and it is actually such a strong motivator of status seeking that i suspect it can supersede some men's mate seeking tendencies

because of this i think some men who get too lost in a particular niche community with its own physical status indicators begin to alter their perception of beauty from their natural default to something else entirely

you see this with blackpill dudes beginning to morph their female standards of beauty into very strange, unfeminine and conventionally unattractive women simply because they have "bone mass"

bone mass has become a status symbol in the blackpill space and it doesn't matter to them anymore if it doesn't contribute to actual dimorphism and raw natural attractiveness of a woman, to them the status of having someone with "good" bone stucture (good in their community simply being "more", despite more being a masculine trait) leading them into an arms race of seeking out women who have these traits for the status of a mate with these "high value" traits alone

in the gym community you see guys who got into trying to look better simply to bag the regular feminine looking girls they were originally into begin to morph their tastes into undimorphic muscle mommy types simply because they have gotten their head so far up their ass into that subculture that they start seeking the STATUS associated with dating someone who is also high status in their niche community (that being someone with high muscle mass)

i think this is also responsible somewhat for face blindness in white men who date asian women. somewhere along the way they got it in their head they needed an asian girl because they really like the idea of having one, maybe they were told they're like super trad or fell for the ABG meme or something, and developed their fetish from that, and as a result are just willing to date the most asian looking asian girl they can find as a sort of status seeking behavior in its own right (as they have associated that asianness in their mate with status)

the girl clav is talking to here is beat as fuck and looks chopped as hell, unless of course maybe you're some hellenic statue larper on here who will say "she looks like a greek statue, аryan as fuck" which to that i say you have correlated looking "аryan as fuck" with high status and are thereby projecting more attractiveness onto her than she actually carries

in most of culture you see this come and go, body types and makeup styles fade in and out of style largely due to them becoming higher status or lower status. it's very hard to pinpoint what true female beauty is but generally it hits you as a FEELING when you see it, and the moment you start picking apart specific characteristics you get into a game where your status seeking is overriding your mate selection

both are in a way healthy, as they indicate masculine drive, but i do find it to be an interesting concept to observe and i do think it somewhat answers some questions of "how the hell is anyone into this?"
