@macroschema Marathas slaughtered Afghans at Delhi & at Kunjpura. At Panipat the defeat was not outright, but by whiskers with Afghans suffering huge loss of men. Sikhs & Jats never dared to mess with Marathas. So Marathas being weak seems to be a figment of imagination of that Punjabi man.
