@FrankHart40@EricSal_7 GG will be an interesting option, not sure how his 3pt game is thoug. John Collins will definitely work, use the MLE and get him.
@FrankHart40@EricSal_7 The most sensible takes so far. Instead of the usual Mitch out or Fox out!
Really like Jones-Garcia option (can he do another 2 way contract?) Get a good 4, maybe Dean Wade is an option at 4 if not Rui or the draft!

It’s weird and funny how the narrative shifts.
The moment Wemby got drafted, every national talking head and half this app demanded the Spurs trade for “immediate help.”
“ Vic is generational, get him help NOW.”
Then Castle gets picked at 4, not only after THREE teams passed on him, but also after many voices preferred Dillingham, Matas, Holland, some even Clingan at 4 — and the same time voices wanted him flipped for Dame or Trae. “Experts” were saying Dillingham was the better fit. Even some Spurs fans said Steph was just a 3&D wing who couldn’t shoot and they preferred someone else.
Many were even calling Holland the best player in the entire class.
Spurs avoided all that noise and drafted Steph. But make no mistake during Castle’s rookie year we also heard it all..
“Trade him for Lauri.”
“Trade him for Trae.”
“He should be included For Fox.”
Now to Dylan — once Dylan was locked in at 2?
The noise began again.
“Package Castle or Dylan for Giannis.”
“Package both for Giannis.”
“Trade down to the Nets.”
“Trade down to Utah for Lauri.”
“He’s not a good fit because hE plAyS tHe SaMe pOsiTiOn aS FoX & StEPh.”
“They need a better fit now.”
“Just DO something.”
It.
Never.
Stopped.
Since the moment Vic was drafted.
Now those same voices are calling the Spurs “lucky” to have all three.
Lucky.
Credit to the front office for not flinching.
For not chasing approval.
For not buying the lazy take that Castles value would never be higher after winning ROTY.
Some Spurs fans even compared him to
Michael-Carter Williams.
Patience is a skill. Most franchises don’t have it. This one does.
Not only that but they picked Steph in a “bad draft with a lot of parity from 1-10” and they also avoided traded him for an old shiny name like Dame or an overrated shiny name like Trae.
I can’t tell you how many arguments I’ve had with people the past 2 years on all of these topics with big names on this app and loud voices on Spurs Twitter.
Saying they were simply lucky in hindsight is such a lazy way to put it.
I understand Sam gave some credit for them being smart, but there’s so many in recent weeks just harping on luck.

@LaLigaMichael slightly off topic but what is your view of this Valencia team? Haven’t watched enough of them this season but saw a lot of Spanish youngsters in today’s team. Strong future or any that you particularly rate highly?
