Looks like the fix is in. So much for an independent and impartial panel to draw riding boundaries for the next election. Gerrymandering is cheating — and that’s what it looks like the UCP is intent on doing.
WOW!
Today Smith tried to perpetuate her spin on what duty to consult means and how it applies...
And Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew was having NONE of it!

Vote Against Alberta Separation

Rick, I offered you an interview on separatism. You passed. Instead, you’re out here cosplaying as Alberta’s bravest keyboard warrior while carrying water for one of the dumbest ideas in modern Alberta politics. The old Rick would’ve had the guts to ask the questions himself.
A “fiercely loyal” Canadian would not have spent two years trying to burn down Canada.
A “fiercely loyal” Canadian would not have made a deal with separatists to give them everything they wanted.
A “fiercely loyal” Canadian would not ride the fence and only say she stood for Canada when it became politically convenient.
Danielle Smith is not an innocent bystander. She cannot blame 700,000 Albertans for this. She has been driving the separatist bus the entire time.
Living in Alberta is mentally exhausting. I love this province but there is so much hate & division that exists here now and I don’t like it. Whether it’s targeting minorities, Canada, or our neighbours, it has to stop. Canada didn’t lose its way, Alberta did. #cdnpoli#ableg
Lady, I’m sorry but Avi Lewis is polling at like 6%.
We’re having a separation referendum because you’re too weak to kick the seppies out of your party and caucus.
There is no other reason we’re in this right now. None.
Danielle Smith’s weakness will tear apart her party.
I will be fighting against this separation referendum, and I encourage all Edmontonians to not be complacent.
Edmontonians believe in this country. I believe in this country.
Edmonton is and always will be a vital part of Canada. Premier Smith and the UCP Government's separatist agenda is catastrophic for Edmontonians, Albertans, and all Canadians.
Alberta is about to descend into a chaos entirely of @ABDanielleSmith’s making. She sold her political soul to the separatists and installed them in key positions in her office and party.
She sowed the wind. Alberta will reap the whirlwind.
@patinaandcompan@CanadianModera1 State intervention is not automatically socialist. Social Credit was certainly more nuanced during their first term, but they quickly became a typical right wing government. The PCs represented a swing to the left when they beat them in 1971.
Alberta has been governed by conservatives for nearly 60 years. If healthcare is strained, schools underfunded, housing unaffordable, and the economy unstable, blaming the NDP after one 4-year term isn’t analysis — it’s political amnesia
The Albertans who are/were so concerned about election integrity that they got rid of vote tabulators and are having a referendum on voter photo ID, seem much less concerned about the breach of the voters list.
It’s actually pretty crazy nearly 3million Albertans (allegedly) had their electoral data posted on the web for all to see…
And not one gov’t minister, police force, investigative body, or public service agency has called a press conference to speak to Albertans. #ableg
