Two high school seniors who say they have proven Pythagoras’s theorem by using trigonometry – which academics for 2,000 years thought to be impossible – are being encouraged to submit their work to a peer-reviewed journal

Donations to gofundme and statements of concern only work when you’re not able to do anything else. Owners are able to help in real, practical ways but they get away with hiding behind these faux actions.
@jskinner23 I lived in these temperatures once in college. Brutal. Froze a friend's engine. Invest in a good face covering or you'll regret it. I had a Rise biscuit for breakfast today, but then again, I moved AWAY from that cold.
@kentcdodds You mean we’d have to do without the air of superiority of random answers? For real though, it feels like another moment like when SO came out. We used to have to troll documentation or random msg boards for answers. This is even better (but still only for those who have $).
25 years after its original release, experience GoldenEye 007 faithfully recreated for Xbox consoles. Includes achievements, 4K resolution and a smoother framerate – even in split-screen local multiplayer! Coming soon to @XboxGamePass.
@jamonholmgren The optimal way to use co-pilot is to write good comments ahead of time. I’ve found it able to complete whole functions or database queries just by giving a good description of what I want to do (imo this is just good practice anyway).
@jamonholmgren I think OKRs can have a place on numbers driven teams like sales and CS, but on creative teams and software in particular it’s really hard to create OKRs that aren’t trite (like # of commits or ticket lifespan) and even harder to make them motivating.
I can’t echo the sentiments in this tweet enough. Earlier this year I had a PR where I deleted over 10k lines of code and it was a breath of fresh air.
@KevinMcNamara33 Sell the team and find someone who will spend all that income on paying players. We should be watching the 2018 team right now. All that prevented that is greed by the owners.
@FranDepascuali@ltm @manuelcufre3 It’s dishonest though for this article to put all the change on RN -> native when they’re using webviews which are never the right answer (see failed hybrid frameworks like jQuery touch).
If I had the $$$ notion has I would have gone native a long time ago.
@FranDepascuali@ltm @manuelcufre3 For performance and quality of experience. Also debugging (with real breakpoints in VSCode) is a nightmare in RN. Just not a first class experience. Also XCode and storyboards are still the most magical experience in development.
I was today years old when I found out Cloudflare has a wall full of lava lamps they feed into a camera as a way to generate randomness to create cryptographic keys
