Sean Sullivan (@SeanBSullivan) and Emma Louise Heath (@emma_heath1) successfully prosecute three defendants for firearms and drug supply offences following a five-week trial.
The defendants faced charges of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of prohibited firearms, and drug supply offences. The Crown’s case established that the lead defendant used his workplace—a fast-food restaurant—as a front for the storage and supply of firearms and viable ammunition, whilst dealing in wholesale quantities of Class A drugs.
CCTV footage from within the premises, spanning a 48-hour period, captured the handling and transfer of firearms between the defendants and others. The prosecution relied on both forensic and drugs expert evidence. One of the firearms recovered was linked to a shooting days earlier.
A submission of no case to answer, made by the lead defendant at the close of the prosecution case, was successfully opposed by the Crown. The lead defendant received a sentence of 18 years’ imprisonment.

Peter Glenser KC and Sean Sullivan (@SeanBSullivan) appear in leading firearms case.
JD was prosecuted for possessing what was said to be a 3D printed lower receiver of an FGC-9 semi-automatic firearm.
The trial judge, Mr Justice Foxton, made a ruling of general importance to the definition of a component part and the application of the “capability” defence within the Firearms Act 1968.
JD was originally prosecuted for an offence of possession of a prohibited weapon to which the prosecution said he had, as a matter of law, no defence and to which he would be liable to a sentence of at least five years’ imprisonment. Once the ruling was given the prosecution indicated a plea to a less serious offence would be acceptable. JD pleaded to that offence and was conditionally discharged thereby avoiding any sentence of imprisonment.
Peter and Sean were instructed to defend JD by Nick Seeley of Lawtons Solicitors.

@TBlighe@KemiBadenoch Reagan was setting out a principled objection to tariffs with historical backing. Kemi endorses it. Relying on Reagan makes a separate and useful point to American conservatives who are following Trump's lead. Whatever your problem is, it's not a lack of detail being given.
@TBlighe@KemiBadenoch And yet you didn't understand her words if you think the objection is simply because Trump is involved. The words you quote set out that reason - no one will benefit.
So British hostage Emily Damari was held in UNWRA facilities and the British government under Starmer continues to fund that organisation. What fools the Hamas terrorists must take us to be.
🧵1/ It is not true that the removal of Israel arms licenses was a legal decision. Keir Starmer should not hide behind this fig leaf. It was *very* much a political decision. #PMQs
I know this, because as Trade Secretary, responsible for arms licenses, I saw the legal advice. So why has the decision been made? It’s because Labour are scared…👇
Hamas took his hand. Murdered his friends. Kidnapped him, torn and bloody. Psychologically tortured his family for months. Then executed him when rescue was near. Along with five more innocents. The pain is too big. I cannot find sadness. Only rage. I am sorry Hersh. I am sorry.
Relieved that four hostages have been released. It should not have come at the expense of at least 200 Palestinians, including children, killed and over 400 injured by Israel and allegedly foreign soldiers, while perfidiously hiding in an aid truck.
This is "humanitarian camouflage" at another level.
Israel has used hostages to legitimise killing, injuring, maiming, starving and traumatising Palestinians in Gaza. And while intensifying violence against Palestinians in the rest of the occupied territory and Israel.
Israel could have freed all hostages, alive and intact, 8 months ago when the first ceasfire and hostage exchange was put on the table. Yet, Israel refused in order to continue to destroy Gaza and the Palestinians as a people.
This is genocidal intent turned into action. Crystal clear.
This morning, in a joint special operation held by the @IDF, ISA and the Israeli Police 4 Israeli hostages were rescued from Gaza:
Noa Argamani (25)
Almog Meir Jan (21)
Andrey Kozlov (27)
Shlomi Ziv (40)
They are in good medical condition and have been transferred to the 'Sheba' Tel-HaShomer Medical Center for further medical examinations.
The 4 were kidnapped by the Hamas terrorist organization from the 'Nova' music festival on October 7th.
The hostages were rescued from two separate locations in the heart of Nuseirat.
The security forces will continue to make every effort to bring the hostages home.
Sam Harris: "Of course, the boundary between Anti-Semitism and generic moral stupidity is a little hard to discern—and I’m not sure that it is always important to find it. I’m not sure it matters why a person can’t distinguish between collateral damage in a necessary war and conscious acts of genocidal sadism that are celebrated as a religious sacrament by a death cult. Our streets have been filled with people, literally tripping over themselves in their eagerness to demonstrate that they cannot distinguish between those who intentionally kill babies, and those who inadvertently kill them, having taken great pains to avoid killing them, while defending themselves against the very people who have just intentionally tortured and killed innocent men, women, and yes… babies…
If you have landed, proudly and sanctimoniously, on the wrong side of this asymmetry—this vast gulf between savagery and civilization—while marching through the quad of an Ivy League institution wearing yoga pants, I’m not sure it matters that your moral confusion is due to the fact that you just happen to hate Jews. Whether you’re an anti-Semite or just an apologist for atrocity is probably immaterial. The crucial point is that you are dangerously confused about the moral norms and political sympathies that make life in this world worth living."
