Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District Municipal Manager admits to spending R32 351 for each Lenovo desktop computer amid R38 million call centre scandal.

He mentions that they chose the cheapest tender and that the prices quoted were market related. The other tenders were apparently over R40 million so this was a good deal?

He justified the R469.75 for each computer mouse by saying that this price includes insurance and that if the mouse is faulty, the company that was awarded the tender would replace the mouse. A COMPUTER MOUSE.

Imagine trying your best to do everything the right way and instead of receiving guidance and clear rules, you get told that you will be sued by the SEC unless you pay $30M. Imagine experienced lawyers advise you that it is cheaper to pay the $30M than it is to fight the bogus charges. Imagine you’ve watched another company fight the SEC and pay in excess of $100M. You’re also told that if you fight the SEC it could lead to more layoffs of employees you feel responsible for. Then imagine you learn that the biggest fraudster of all was having private meetings with the Chairman of the SEC, during a time the SEC refused to talk to companies such as yours. Imagine during the trial of that particular fraudster you hear evidence that he donated $10M to the current administration for the purpose of gaining access to the same regulators who threatened to sue your company. 😡 doesn’t cover it.

He lives in a gold tower and has twelve people in his company. He doesn’t run a corporation of hundreds of thousands of people he employs and takes care of. He ran a company of twelve people!

When you direct a film you have seven different unions all wanting different things, you have to find consensus with all of them, and you have to get them moving in the same direction.

He’s never had to do any of that kind of stuff. I just look at it and I laugh when I see him say “Hollywood elite.” Hollywood elite? I don’t have a star on Hollywood Boulevard, Donald Trump has a star on Hollywood Boulevard! Fuck you!"
