Damn. I go to screen grab the odds for winning the 2027 World Series and the Astros barely make it onto the screen with the favorites. New day, indeed.
Ken Rosenthal: “Was it important to win one just to show you’re on this level?”
Taylor Walls: “I think that’s pretty disrespectful honestly, we’re a team that’s capable of winning four.”
For any followers from Buffalo, my wife and I are coming to town this weekend for #Ravens-#Bills, so we’d love to see first hand what the #BillsMafia is all about, up to and including tables broken. Let me know where we are welcome! DMs open.
A. I hope he’s right.
B. It is kind of funny, the “look like a team that thinks they can win a title” part — the Spurs game is a relevant data point. The other three games are vs the Mavs and Hawks, teams who factor zero into any title talk.
Bill Simmons has the Rockets at No. 1 in his latest power rankings
“Houston has that look...they look like a team to me that thinks they can win the title.”

#Texans wide receiver Jaylin Noel turf toe injury, regarded as season-ending issue, per league source, is a blow to offense and special teams. Most explosive and fastest receiver on roster with 4.39 speed in 40-yard dash
Saw a lot of comments yesterday comparing the Quenton Nelson trade to the Marvin Harrison Jr. trade, but details and context matter.
The Texans acquired a 24 year old WR at a premium position with cap hits of just $776K in 2026 and $5.6M in 2027, plus the ability to exercise his fifth year option.
Nelson is obviously far more proven and plays a position Houston desperately needs. I would’ve loved to have him.
But he’s 29, in the final year of his deal, carries roughly a $9.8M remaining cap hit, and will be looking for a new contract after this season. His previous deal was 4 years, $80M.
Age, positional value, cap implications, and years of team control all matter when comparing trades.
Acting like acquiring MHJ somehow prevented Houston from trading for Nelson is equally silly. We don’t know that one deal impacted the other, or if the Colts were even willing to trade Nelson to a division rival.
Again this isn’t about pitting one player against the other. I would’ve loved both.
It’s simply about providing the necessary context that many are leaving out when directly comparing these two very different trades.
@Flakko_guapo@TexansHMA Seriously, someone using some Twitter pseudonym commenting on the commentary bravery of others is peak level stupidity. Thanks for the laugh, Fakko
@Flakko_guapo@TexansHMA You mean “say it with my chest” like a rando on Twitter who doesn’t use his real name? Also, is it “behind his back” if it’s, y’know, ON THE INTERNET? Do you know what “behind his back” means? Are you really this dumb? I have LOTS of questions
