@SDeneen@Seattle4Strauss I won't be voting for Dan Strauss or anyone who voted for this. Sad, because I previously donated the maximum to his campaign last time around.
What a difference a tree makes 🌳 You can apply to receive one of these (or other) trees from Trees for Seattle for FREE. This program planted more than 14,000 trees since 2009. Sign up ends July 29. Requirements and sign-up info are here: https://t.co/KCU3MWzCzd
@try_thinking0 Yes, we have no large trees left to tell you about. I’ve almost closed this account down as what is there left to save in my neighborhood? A bunch of twigs?
They just took out the largest tree in my neighborhood today.
This photo is 4 years old. I think it’s DBH was over 7 feet.
Nothing can save large, exceptional trees in my neighborhood with an unhealthy 18% canopy cover.
the system was developed by anti growth sprawler planners who envisioned a string of park & rides for suburban commuters back in the 1990s. light rail is too slow, too infrequent, too delicate, and will be over capacity when its done.
turns out planners are bad at planning

I'm not happy with the new tree protections. A big old Willow that was protected (they are protected at 8 inches) was permitted for removal -the only Willow in my neighborhood. There was once seven. I wonder what the price was to the two homeowners? It grew between two lots.
