Hey! I'm Sebastian Bauer, starting my PhD journey in @GriffieJuliette's lab. My focus? Unraveling the secrets of cellular networks using GNNs and SMLM. 💻🔬🦠
Can't wait to dive into discussions about biophysics, machine learning, and microscopy. 🧬🤖
Antibody–antigen complexes are still hard for AlphaFold: good candidate structures may be generated, but choosing the correct one remains a challenging.
ABAG-Rank tackle this by learning to rank structural ensembles.

🎉 New paper out in Nano Letters!
This study demonstrates how our abberior tetrazine dyes (STAR 635, STAR RED) enable precise bioorthogonal labeling and STED imaging.
By combining noncanonical amino acid (ncAA) incorporation with bioorthogonal click chemistry and expansion microscopy (ExM) the team achieved nanoscale resolution of protein distributions in cells, going beyond the limits imposed by traditional antibody labeling.

Always exciting to see our dyes supporting cutting-edge super-resolution research.
Congratulations to the author team around Hans Blom, Hjalmar Brismar, and Steven Edwards.

Our work “AI4CellFate: Interpretable Early Cell Fate Prediction with Generative AI” is finally out in @biorxivpreprint !!! 😍❤️🔬https://t.co/nG9xXw390d @scilifelab, @franciscrick. More about it in the thread #AI4CellFate (1/n)⬇️
🚨🚨 We are recruiting! If you are interested in developing ML tools (with a focus on interpretable ML & generative AI) for bioinformatics applications @scilifelab, look no more😋 1 PhD position https://t.co/KRohvQAcJM & 2 post doc positions (online soon, PM me in the meantime).
🚨We’re hiring!
Passionate about #microscopy, #biophysics and #interdisciplinaryresearch? There's still time to apply for our EPSRC PhD project on how actin network architecture shapes the mechanical properties of cells at @sheffielduni

It has been a bliss of a 1st year for the lab with these guys 🥰🎂 looking forward to sharing what we have been up in the coming months 😆 and, of course, a merry Christmas 🎄🎁
In their Review, @inesmcunha, @GriffieJuliette and colleagues discuss the opportunities and challenges associated with applying ML-based pipelines for microscopy datasets from a user point of view.

😍⚠️And it’s out in @J_Cell_Sci!! Our review on the opportunities and challenges of using Machine Learning in Microscopy research 🤖🔬! From using ML to curate data to using ML to give us more KNOWLEDGE about our data (i.e. Interpretation 😉) DOI: https://t.co/HmYiaHgfgX (1/n) ⬇️
📢📢The one and only @inesmcunha will be presenting the super exciting work she has been doing since joining the lab in collaboration with @CultureOfCells@TheCrick (Poster 50, talk on Friday) at I2K. [1/2]
Super grateful to have received this funding from @KAWstiftelsen 🙏and very excited to start this collaboration. I will be recruiting a PhD student and post docs (computational projects). PM if you are interested in joining the CMCB team @scilifelab
Back at work after a couple of months off for baby n2. Super happy to see these fantastic four 🦸♀️🦸♂️, but mixed feelings leaving my little shrimp behind🐣.
Back in my hometown to attend my first conference @icmlconf. I'm excited to learn & discuss about graph neural networks and their applications in imaging and biology! 🔬💻🧬

Yesterday I had a blast giving a lecture at the "AI Applications in Infection Biology" course (@NDPIAprogramme) on how we can go from “pretty pictures” to novel knowledge in immunology with AI🔬🦠 First time showing off what we’re up to in the lab!!❤️ Big thanks to everyone!
Hey everyone!😛Need your help. I’m preparing an image analysis lab as an introduction of using ML for cell classification. Do you know of any available Jupyter Notebooks using public (labelled!) datasets for cell classification (with simple model architectures – CNN-based)?? TY❤️
