Transgene silencing persists as a challenge for synthetic biology in mammalian cells.
Check out this new paper on the topic published today!
Special thanks to @genegirl007 and everyone for this outstanding effort and collaboration!
Hello darkness my old friend...Have you ever had your transgene or synthetic gene circuit silence? Check out this awesome collaborative review by many leaders in mammalian synbio. https://t.co/flQLjhJxFw
The 2024 #NobelPrize laureates in chemistry Demis Hassabis and John Jumper have successfully utilised artificial intelligence to predict the structure of almost all known proteins.
In 2020, Hassabis and Jumper presented an AI model called AlphaFold2. With its help, they have been able to predict the structure of virtually all the 200 million proteins that researchers have identified. Since their breakthrough, AlphaFold2 has been used by more than two million people from 190 countries. Among a myriad of scientific applications, researchers can now better understand antibiotic resistance and create images of enzymes that can decompose plastic.

Feedback loop: train SOTA chip design model (AlphaChip) -> use it to design better AI chips -> use them to train better models -> to design better chips... part of the reason why our TPU stack is so good. Congrats @Azaliamirh, @annadgoldie, @JeffDean & the AlphaChip team!
NeuralGCM is a method that combines traditional physics-based modeling with ML to accurately and efficiently simulate Earth's atmosphere. Learn how NeuralGCM marks a significant step towards developing more powerful and accessible climate models. → https://t.co/85cmhUjPfv
In one of the earliest cases of a quantum processor being used to resolve an outstanding debate in a different area of physics, we show the first signatures that a 1D Heisenberg spin chain at infinite temperature deviates from the KPZ universality class. https://t.co/dOLVF8LTkU
Last week we announced that with @Nvidia, we've built the largest #supercomputer in pharma and 35th in the world. Yesterday, CEO, Jensen Huang, referenced the opportunity the $RXRX supercomputer presents in #techbio.
Unlike small molecules and antibodies which have decades-refined design strategies, new modalities lack a playbook.
This may be where AI can be particularly valuable today.
Some companies exemplifying this strategy 🧵
