I am so heartbroken.

Israel has just shot my 30-year-old aunt in the chest while she was sitting with her three young children in a school shelter in Jabalia Camp. She is in critical condition; the bullet pierced her chest and exited through her back, devastating her lungs and spleen.
At the moment she was hit, she was holding her one-year-old son. He fell from her lap as she collapsed and was found bleeding from one of his ears.

I just spoke with my uncle, who told me that Israel has been using subsonic bullets lately. He said his sister is the second mother in the camp to be shot in the chest today.
Please pray for her and our family. Her husband was abducted by Israel in November 2024, and we still have no word on his condition.

The Israeli court approved the extension of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya’s detention, without charges.

The request for his immediate release was denied, despite the unlawful nature of his detention while carrying out his medical duties.

He is held in Negev Prison in harsh conditions, without access to medication or medical care, as his health continues to deteriorate.

We demand the immediate release of Dr. Abu Safiya along with 13 other detained doctors, as well as all medical personnel currently held in Israel. We call on the international community to intervene and put an end to this abuse.

Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya has been detained since December 27, 2024, until today without any charges. His only “crime” was his humanity.

At the beginning of the war, he had the opportunity to leave Gaza, as his wife holds a foreign nationality, but he refused to leave. He chose to remain steadfast, saving lives and treating children and the wounded, believing that his humanitarian duty was above all, and that what he was doing was for God first.

He carried out his work inside Kamal Adwan Hospital under heavy bombardment, until he was deliberately and directly targeted, sustaining injuries while performing his medical duty. Even after he was injured, the targeting did not stop—it extended to his family. His mother passed away from a stroke after his injury and the loss of contact with him, his son Ibrahim was killed, and his son Idris was injured.

He was arrested from inside the hospital after it had been turned into a devastated place, as if saving lives had become a crime.

I personally witnessed several situations involving him, as I was displaced inside the hospital. I saw his humility, his closeness to people, and how he worked tirelessly—comforting patients before treating them, always putting their humanity first.

Until now, his fate remains unknown. He is detained without charge and without trial, in a blatant violation of all laws and humanitarian conventions, while fears continue to grow that his detention may be arbitrarily extended once again.

This is not just a case of detention, but a systematic targeting of a doctor who chose to save lives… and paid for it with his freedom and his family.
