They are relying on fear so that schools don't rock the boat. I don't understand why they won't consider change - possibly because it would open a pandora's box of other pay claims against the LA.

I have worked in a maintained primary school and renegotiated pay and have supported others to do so. It isn’t always easy but there are ways to go about this that might not have been considered. We are a niche profession so less institutional support

If an AHT was evaluated against an LA role profile it is unlikely that they would be awarded the salary. That is the fault of the LA system which you could challenge. 2/2

It would be interesting to know more about the LA not allowing this and which unions you are in and what they have done. Yes individuals can fight for themselves. That can be a precedent. 1/2

Last year the Sept teacher pay award was finalised before the NJC pay deal which was due 5 months before.
April 2021 was only settled the following March, because the back pay would have been subject to higher EE NI in April 22 due to H&SC levy.

Getting clarity about what you/we are trying to achieve would be good.
