@autitious@DangerousThinkg wrong it became THE discourse during the GWOT to justify american interference in the middle east. people couldn't tolerate the hypocrisy of "judeo-christian" morality. christ is king nonsense is just embarrassing to witness
@autitious@DangerousThinkg Yes but mostly you in this dialogue. You are an effete loser grasping to defend status quo. Plus Christians are some of the worst offenders bc they believe they can be forgiven (and on their own terms). Atheism and agnosticism became dominant for good reason.
@NealB4zodd@DangerousThinkg Yea DOGE just made everything more expensive by ending basic govt services and funneling tax dollars to independent contractors. Running one the largest annual deficits in history under these morons
@autitious@DangerousThinkg And this is such a pallid response. And the sheepish “lol” to end. Idk man maybe just **** yourself? Right? Nothing you can do except get raped by the private sector
Tallying up the costs of the Iran war
* Americans paid ~$60 billion more for gasoline and diesel since the conflict began as a result of higher prices, per Iran War Energy Cost Tracker from Brown University
* The military costs are ~$29 billion, per a top Pentagon official
* For U.S. taxpayers and consumers, the cost of the war is at least $132 billion, per Moody’s Analytics
* No estimate provided for the costs of human lives (3,000 Iranians, 26 Israelis, 13 members of U.S. military)
* A companion story in the Times showed airfares are up 28 percent year over year, per Kayak, with airlines raising prices seven times since February. (Don’t expect them to come down anytime soon.)
* The resulting inflation prevents the Fed from dropping rates, which would have stimulated housing and other key sectors of the economy.
Against these massive costs, one must ask, What were the benefits? We didn’t reduce the likelihood that Iran would develop a nuclear weapon. U.S. oil refineries realized a profit boost, as they tend to do in these crises.
Probably an obvious conclusion, the war was not only ill-conceived, but also badly fails a cost-benefit test.
@ScottMGreer@DaringAmerican2 Congrats you lost a war you started and no one competent will work for you. You are in the best position possible since you will bear none of the costs
