@WorkshopLabs is joining @thinkymachines.
When @luke_drago_ and @LRudL_ came to us, they had a deck and a conviction. We offered to fly them to SF. Weeks later, they raised $2.5M during batch #1 of Seldon.
Congrats to the Workshop team. We're excited to see what comes next.
Cat’s out of the bag! Today @WorkshopLabs is joining @ThinkyMachines.
We started Workshop Labs to build towards a world where people still matter, even as powerful AI advances. I want to talk a bit about why this is the best move to serve that mission.
What does it take to build AI responsibly as the technology moves faster than ever?
From SCET Startup Semester to #AIsafety at @seldonai, Finn Metz shares why founders must take oversight, cyber resilience, and societal impact seriously .https://t.co/TC51jO8XvV

The infrastructure that determines whether AGI goes well won't build itself.

Who we want:
Ex-OpenAI/Anthropic engineers. PhD-level technical depth. Teams that can actually build the thing.
If you're still figuring out if you want to be a founder, this isn't for you.
Is it an emotional toll to work on AI safety?
Can we solve the biggest problems of AGI with tech startups?
Are for-profits better than non-profits in AI safety?
This, and much more is discussed in our recent panel debate with @ericho_goodfire, @bshlgrs, and Nick Fitz.
This past weekend, we've hosted a blast of a retreat full of deep discussions and solutions to AI safety.
Everyone agreed that the most awesome future is one where we can successfully enforce Tool AI and limit unstable autonomous generally intelligent agents.
Andon Labs is incredibly grateful for our time in the first-ever @seldonai batch!
@EsbenKC , @MetzFinn81065 , and @nick_s_fitz put together a group of great people, and we learned a lot from our many discussions, most recently in the Yosemite mountains.
We, just like Seldon, think AI safety is the best startup opportunity today. If you share this view and want to build a startup, you should definitely apply to the second batch.
This current batch will end with a bang on Friday. Hope to see you there! (link to event below)
One of the few things which feels like a pro-safety move is that @elonmusk is working with explicitly safety focused partners here with @seldonai .
Hopefully we will see a system card.
