@duckbldg My dentist’s office (designed and built 6 years ago to much hype) has sliding doors, plays two different commercial radio stations in consult rooms and waiting rooms, has a tv on the ceiling above the chair and multiple light temperatures in all spaces. It’s a sensory nightmare.
“It’s illegal to be gay in Palestine” gay marriage was illegal in the US until 2015? the solution to homophobia is letting a society exist long enough to evolve their stance on it not carpet bombing them back to the 12th century. Imagine if Denmark dropped chemical weapons on us in 2002 because of our sodomy laws do you HEAR YOURSELVESSSSSS
My autism shows up as being able talk very calmly through an enormous amount of pain, until I reach the point that I can’t communicate at all. Then I collapse into tears and struggle to breathe or talk. I get written off as being fine, and then dramatic.
Catheter inserted during endo surgery was causing me ridiculous bladder pain. I told the nurses who said that it was fine. I was repeatedly dismissed and denied pain relief. Nurse was surprised the bag was empty 12 hours later, found catheter was blocked and my bladder was full.
My best friend, who is autistic, got written off as 'difficult' by healthcare workers, and subsequently mistreated, because she yelled at a nurse that her IV wasn't in properly and she wasn't getting any painkillers post-surgery. Hours later, they checked it, and she was right.
Wow absolutely can’t recommend doing the daylight savings switch during an extended stint in hospital. Time is meaningless, sleep is fleeting and I got even less of it last night.
@SuperNurseRN Yeah I’ve seen a bit about it but hard to figure out exactly what to do/whether results are achievable with an at-home TENS machine & ear clip.
@SuperNurseRN Not yet, but cardiologist has just put me on mestonin for ~everything~ and I’m super interested to see if it has any effect on these, particularly gastroparesis. Transcutaneous is next on my list. Do you have a tens protocol that you’re looking at?
@dreamsofskies Yep, mine worsened dramatically for about six months after my first covid infection. Meds weren’t effective and I totally lost the ability to concentrate. Second time around it’s been less severe overall, but is awful in the week before my period. Also ~ hideous depression~
Got tons of feedback on the first version of this we posted. Some great, some… Constructive! 😅
Easy to just plow ahead. But I believe in getting things right.
So I went back to the drawing board and made this design even better!
