We are a group of parents and carers in South Gloucestershire campaigning for equality in schools for children with special educational needs and disabilities.
I've just threatened @sgloscouncil with a Judicial Review. Do your job properly or go home. I used to be such a nice person before Send circa 2016 and now it's one chance and that's it.
Help us find out if your disabled child or young person has any, some, or all of their SEND provision back (or if it’s ever been in place!) Please take SNJ’s autumn SEND survey: https://t.co/UDFTMjo1K8. #fixSEND
We have recently updated its information on school re-opening to emphasise that it is no longer possible for a school to refuse to admit a pupil as a result of a risk assessment. The only legal basis on which a school may prevent a child attending is a formal exclusion
Has your child/YP school said no to provisions in an ehcp or no annual reviews? Please let us know via comment or DM. You may find Ipsea website a helpful resource.

Wow - if you care for a child with additional needs please read this. It's not self-care that will solve the issues of things like exhaustion and isolation, it is for society to care that is really essential.

@rachelmewes1982 @LauraFergz@N_landCouncil You can also attend an open meeting with full council and ask the question why they did not assess. And ask for an investigation into the SEND process by their scrutiny committee. Or the local press may be interested in the story of Betsy’s fight for help, policy over law again.
The #EHCP process is a minefield. We’ve been told by 2 independent experts that our son’s plan is vague & not worth the paper it’s written on. It can be hard for parents to understand the language in them. There needs to be more advice & support on this. #SEND#BBCPanorama
Told by LA that they are only doing s17 social care assessments for kids with ASD - not for kids with ADHD. Surely ALL disabled kids are eligible?!
Duty to assess under the 2014 Act is mandatory if the person ‘may’ have a need for care and / or support. sections 19, 21 and 24
Worried about the schools starting back?
You're not alone. We've talked to parents, carers, children, young people and teachers and you all have similar concerns and worries.
We hope our #BacktoSchool Toolkit can help.

Some children have returned to school some at home. Please tell Special Needs Jungle your child/young persons experience of education, health & social care during the covid19 crisis. Working with Send Community Alliance will present this to government to ask for accountability
After all the promises of dealing with long-term street homelessness post-pandemic, this emerges from homelessness minister Luke Hall. Alarming, ignorant, pathetic and dangerous
