Bro forgot most of us don't need all 200+ features ๐
My indie SaaS newsletter needs:
- Send emails
- Simple editor
- Unsubscribe
- SPF/DKIM/DMARC
- Open + click rates
5 features. $0 extra for Beehiiv needed.
I guess MailCheap is not that cheap. Ahh the irony.
What matters most for indie devs/vibe coders is pay wayy less than $19 for an email plane and still have flexibility for expanding as their user base grows. Why pay for enormous email capacity when you have just a couple of users. Not all of us are blessed like Marc himself.
@sendwithxmit (Transmit) bridges that gap and have a $2 plan for the transactional route. Or you can bring your own key with AWS SES with the free plan with all agentic capabilities.
Interactive web experiences, generated on-device.
Edge0 can turn natural-language requirements into frontend structure, logic, and interactions, then iterate on the result locally.
From the first prototype to the final refinement, the workflow stays on-device.
None of the video gen models do a real CRT terminal animation look.
So I trained my own with @fal.
CRT-anim : open-source LoRA for LTX-2.3 22B. Runs on fal + ComfyUI.
Developed from scratch in just 4 weeks, on a budget of roughly $1,000 in credits, I took a 124 year old horror story that's already been adapted into 20+ films and reimagined it entirely using a single Al platform: @invideoOfficial
Based on W.W. Jacobs' 1902 horror story, The Monkey Paw is a cautionary tale about a cursed artefact that grants three wishes, but with terrible consequences.
I reworked the tale to become part of a larger Lovecraftian mythos I've been creating for over 20 years, set in the fictional town of Brightburn, Massachusetts.
I set out to achieve three goals:
1. Stay as faithful as possible to the original story
2. Deliver a strong emotional arc through believable AI performances
3. Push the medium as much as possible to emulate a real film breaking the AI illusion
You can be the judge of what worked and what didnโt.
We banned a spammer on Transmit today at 6 AM. Here's the story.
A new user signed up and grabbed our most affordable plan ($2/mo). Sounds normal, right?
Except when I checked @dodopayments, this person had been trying for days with different cards across different plans, including the $79 tier. Dodo caught and denied most of the attempts (thank you), but one $2 charge slipped through.
Within minutes of getting in, they added a domain and got it verified. I make sure all platform emails come to me as BCC so I know what's happening in real time. The verified domain was a red flag.
I opened the URL to check and @airaborannern blocked it immediately as a dangerous site. That was my cue.
I cancelled their sub through Dodo, which triggered webhooks that updated their status and killed sending before they got a single email out.
Email is a tough business. One bad actor can tank the reputation of your entire sending infrastructure, so speed matters here.
While we're still early and onboarding customers, I'm now adding a domain approval gate before sending is enabled, so this can't happen again.
A couple of product feedback items:
@clerk - I wanted to ban this user at the auth level. Found them in the dashboard but the Ban button is locked to Pro accounts. It would be great to have this on the free tier, especially given how developer-friendly you've been with the recent limit increases.
@dodopayments - would love a way to block a user's email on the dashboard so they can't even initiate checkout.
PS - the spammer actually emailed us saying they can't send emails. Already refunded and moved on.
Thanks @Airtel_Presence for the browser-level block that tipped me off.
We're building Transmit (https://t.co/7hEeHdSJo1) - email delivery infrastructure that takes deliverability seriously
Pretty insane to see an email company flexing about its npm downloads rather than the emails they sent. Its just a curl call, why do you even need an sdk?
Yeah that's borning, Unlike Stripe showing their numbers as a GDP.
Biggest irony playing out live.
SaaS giants beat earnings hard.
Poured billions into AI buys and products.
Stocks still get crushed. $500B wiped in a day.
Market betting AI agents kill the per-seat model.
One prompt replaces months of dev.
Klarna already ditched Salesforce for in-house AI.
Hardware prints money.
Software bleeds.
SaaS builders, is this apocalypse or just the next evolution?
