@justdavenow89@Dude1dw Which is precisely the point. He doesn’t trust them to return him once they know the full facts of the investigation. Which is why he’s jumping the gun.
@raycroxy1@justdavenow89@vigilo_et_arco Please read again. Overarching rule is if you think there’s potential for other people to think you might be influenced by the gift you should declare it. Now tell me who doesn’t thing £5m is sufficiently to potentially influence someone…
@BenGrahamUK I’m most impressed by the way they’ve been able to use time machines to coordinate so neatly for everything to occur now despite many events having actually started at least a year ago.
What’s that, @DaleVince? You want to give me an unconditional personal gift of £5million to do whatever I want with? Sure! I just need to fill out a form. If I didn’t declare it that would be silly.
@BladeoftheS There may be an argument for not being allowed to stand in the same seat (if you arbitrarily trigger the event yourself). Otherwise uncomfortable with the idea of blocking someone from standing.
@LoftusSteve It’s just so pathetic. If he’s found guilty and they think it’s a stitch up what happens? He goes to by-election. Which is what his people say he wants! But then Clacton get to vote on all the facts.
@Colin00007@DPJHodges@Arron_banks The state of you - that is literally what the system does. Investigation. If suspended then by-election at which voters can choose to put him back in place. So why’s he afraid of a system that does exactly what you want?
@SeleneA92651315@NiallHenderson6@DPJHodges At some point if you think literally everyone is out to get him don’t you need to pause and think that maybe he may be at least part of the problem? Or is he a saint?
@claire_adams694 Triggering a by-election to get a vote BEFORE standards inquiry ends is an attempt to then say a by-election triggered by that inquiry is useless. It’s denying the people of Clacton opportunity to make an informed choice. He’s taking them for fools.
@mp2172@Oates1592@DPJHodges If the plan is to ‘game’ the system to avoid scrutiny and he (or anyone) is allowed to get away with it then you may as well not have the rules at all.
@stevensimpkin@kamakeriad@Rik_w2010 to be in breach of rules to declare it doesn’t even need to be corrupt. Just that it could reasonably give other people the impression that he’d be influenced by it.
@Oates1592@DPJHodges He could scream that from the rooftops as deep state stitch up and there wouldn’t be a good argument against it. And be representing his constituents all that time. Jumping ahead of time leads only to 1 outcome. A vote BEFORE the facts/decision are public
