@JacobJohnson27 Having the martians live in an Empire of the Sun society allows for the rest of the story to take place...I think that Zelazny created their society like that simply to set the foundation so he could explore more deep themes

Interesting insight into Rose for Ecclesiastes last class...when examined closely we find that Zelazny has intricately and subtly almost completely reversed conventional gender roles...all without our main character Gallinger knowing. #SF409
