@danilaserra_eco 2nding Percy Jackson and Wings of Fire! My kids ate both of those up. I have even enjoyed reading both too. Both series have a dozen plus books and graphic novels. With Percy Jackson my youngest now knows more Greek methology than me
@ElaineLiuEcon@Wootenomics I'm only teaching principles and a research class. All I have done is change principles to inclass exams that are open note but no technology.
Thanks so much to @monique_e_davis for presenting to the towson undergrad Econ research group! She will be on the market this coming year with a great paper on school resource officers and racial equality

A study of gender gaps in long-term career expectations and outcomes of PhD candidates in economics finds females are 10 percentage points less likely to expect tenure or to get published regularly, from Helppie McFall, Parolin, and Zafar https://t.co/9Z1bhyNYtz
That 2/3 of people in the world's most populous country get food through a public distribution system is a thing economists don't talk about as much as you'd expect.
@JoshGoodman_BU Saying this is as someone who accepts and does almost every referee request and I've never ghosted. But I've been waiting too long for papers lately. Maybe different if someone declines to review, but I think coming up with policy there too helps
@JoshGoodman_BU My gut is desk reject if it's really been 3 or more times of accepted a review then ghosted and say it in the letter with the times it has happen. Make a policy. I have no editorial experience & I see a lot of people I respect say it's unethical, would love to hear the thinking
I want to make sure everyone on Silver Spring knows about Morning My Day on Fenwick ln near Georgia Ave (under Arrive building). This place is so great! Amazing baked goods and lots of bubble tea options!

Ever wanted to make a map for a paper? I used to think it was hard, then I switched to R! With the sf and tidyverse (well, ggplot) packages, it's super straightforward.
library(sf)
library(tidyverse)
shapefile <- read_sf(LOCATION OF .shp file)
