@qthomp Those were my 2 expected outcomes, only difference would be the question of how hard would Kamala's admin gone after crypto? Would they have completely crushed it? To me, that was the most important variable, and maybe Trump's only real positive aspect at a major tipping point.

@anondeguerre @banteg Exactly, and goal is to split people to different sides of the spectrum, not just towards one side. Countries like Russia have been doing this since at least the early 2010s, if not earlier. They were sowing vaccine disinformation online from 2014-2017, amongst other topics.

I am physically exhausted… not from caring for patients — that still fuels me every single day — but from fighting a system that seems built to crush doctors who actually want to heal. Endless bureaucracy. Red tape so thick it strangles common sense. People with no clinical experience are deciding what care is “allowed.” I finally understand why so many of my friends have left medicine. They didn’t stop caring; they couldn’t keep fighting a machine that puts paperwork over patients. We were trained to save lives, not to beg for approvals and defend every decision to a panel of strangers. Medicine is bleeding talent because the system rewards compliance rather than courage. Patients deserve better.

Last month was a nightmare. Despite grinding harder than ever, insurance companies refuse to pay or pay at rates so absurd that I’m literally covering my office overhead out of my own secondary income. Let that sink in. Medicine — the career I poured my soul, sweat, and decades of training into — has now become my hobby. An expensive hobby.

Everyone keeps telling me, “Go concierge. Charge cash. Protect yourself.” But I became a doctor to help as many people as I can — not just the ones who can afford to buy access. I didn’t go to medical school for money. But this… this is ridiculous.

Insurance executives keep getting bonuses while the ones actually caring for patients are left scrambling to survive. This broken system punishes those of us who still believe in putting patients first.

Maybe one day soon the bean counters will realize: without doctors willing to fight for patients, there’s no healthcare left to exploit.
