forty something, like TV show but darker. Last ever theology graduate from Heythrop College. Bass in Choir and Orchestra. Professional amanuensis, and Tutor.
No mystery: Muslims voted for a young independent woman in a progressive party led by a gay Jew, over a bigot who's views on women are closer to the Taliban's than almost all British people's, in a far-right party full of Islamophobes like Sarah who think there are too many brown faces on TV!
Pochin chats shit to a disgraced bulbous wanker who is too bigoted even for fucking Murdoch!
Like fireworks caught in Medusa's gaze. The remarkably fluid late C15th vaulting at Oxford's Christ Church cathedral. Some say it might have been built earlier.
The 12thC tympanum at Southwell Minster is full of fabulous detail.
On the left David is seen attempting a spot of feline dentistry watched over by a teeny, sturdy lamb. In the centre St Michael is wondering how to deal with a very curly dragon.
It's a stunner!

Apparently there's a new government scheme? Where you invest in an AI speculating on the stockmarket? Can't imagine this possibly going horribly wrong.
I now have a blow heater for the shed. Which means one side of my body is toasty warm. The other side is still pretty frozen but silver linings and all that.
Talking to my mum about the online biblical Greek course I help with and she immediately suggested starting an in person version at our house. Which seems a little optimistic. Our town is largish but demand is probably not present in sufficient number.
The most demanding schedules I've ever come across with reaching a proficiency that's truly admirable. I suggested to one that soon we'd become a reading group and thrilled she seems keen. Overall a wonderful time and I've gained so much from being, in a small way, a teacher.
During earlish stage of the pandemic my old biblical studies professor agreed, or maybe suggested, running a free intro to Koine Greek course. Last night the two remaining students reached the milestone of reaching final chapter of the textbook. Its been one of the best /1
experiences of my life. Its been tough on everyone in its way but watching two people devote one evening of learning and other parts of their freebie to learn a difficult language has been inspiring. In the time one has graduated and started a new job and one has juggled /2
@quakerpen Why am I supposed to remember the names of members of the House of Lords at the next election? I could I suppose but it seems a pointless exercise. Much like relying on Musk for information about the UK.
Reading @CottrellStephen’s Epiphany letter, I wonder if the fashionable post-V2 ecclesiology that urges us to think of the Church as the whole People of God actually makes it harder for bishops to admit it’s the hierarchy, not the Church at large, that’s failed catastrophically
